My husband and I stayed at the Escarpment Retreat for 3 nights in early December 2011. It was our second visit, having stayed for 2 nights at the same time in 2010 in celebration of my birthday. The Escarpment is everything you could ask for in a ‘couples’ retreat’. We received champagne and chocolates on arrival. Carolynne is wonderfully welcoming and helpful and we had the same warm (but unobtrusive) welcome from everyone else we dealt with. The villas are beautiful, spacious and private. The grounds are spacious, beautiful, lushly green and have a very secluded feel. The breakfast is delicious. There are only 6 villas and so the dining room will always be quiet with very individual service. The Escarpment is out of any traffic area but you don’t need to drive far to get to the local attractions. Carolynne will direct you to anywhere you wish to go and offer suggestions including suggestions for lovely places for dinner. She will also take care of bookings for you. In other words, you can just go there and switch off.
A full review should probably mention any negatives but there aren’t any! I’m very much looking forward to our next visit.

I are delighted to receive your review Julie.
For me, what you have written is very important because in addition to sharing your experiences with our readers, you have have acknowledged Carolynne as being an integral part of your stay.
She gives so much to our guests and has a heart as big as anyone that I have met. Although embarrassed on the outside when receiving praise, I am sure that just under the surface she will be delighted to hear that she contributed to making your stay a memorable one
Thank you Julie,
