Tripadvisor Review – It was time to relax

Written by Scottywade from Brisbane, Australia

soooooo … after a disastrous stay at a NQ resort (resort, BAH!) myself and my partner wanted to have anothertripadvisor travelers' choice 2012 weekend away to make up for that time we couldn’t get back. (Let’s say at un-named resort, a peeping tom doesn’t help your stay!)

Behold the INTERNET – I always search for places to escape, because for both of us or “day” jobs do not bring us the much love in our lives we are searching for – apart from the monetary flow to enjoy such trips away from said “day” jobs…

I found the Escarpment website; well presented – I am a BIG fan of pics on a website, so seeing a good number of pictures – this was a great way to get an initial feel of place. I also searched tripadvisor for feedback on the retreat – just so we weren’t burnt again!

We stayed for 2 nights (i believe) in december, and i must say – IT WAS SENSATIONAL, FANTASTIC, AMAZING – we wanted to get away to relax, and we got to do exactly that. I guess too, we picked a good time to go to the escarpment, because there was hardly anyone there, so we had no neighbours – just us & the forest – just what we needed.

We were greeted – courteous, warm and welcoming. The breakfasts were sensational, and the room we stayed in was perfect … had all we needed and the wood fire – LOVED IT!! … and it rained while we were there, so that just tipped it off even more.

The choice of DVDs is good, and very useful to have – FOR FREE! … and the movie room with the deals – awesome touch. I believe we shocked Carolynne a little I believe (from her reaction) when we asked to use the room from 8pm onwards on Saturday nite (i think). But I guess, there wasn’t anywhere stating the “use of hours” of the movie room, and myself & my partner enjoying movies late at night, we just thought this would be fine. However, the wine, the deserts – a great touch, and the room is private, and because we booked the room late – it was our little movie cinema for the time!

We took the time to visit the markets nearby too, and myself, not being a wine drinker – became one over this weekend lol … 1 bottle down! lol

Overall, the experience was what we needed – perfect. The staff were fantastic, the food was beautiful, the grounds were amazing and well maintained, and everything was there that we needed!

Thank you escarpment, we aim to be back again!
