The Escarpment Tiffin Dinner Hello, my name is Tuty and I prepare the Escarpment tiffin dinners. You might wonder what a ‘tiffin’ is. A tiffin is a set of stackable food bowls and a carry handle. They came into existence in the 19th century during the era when colonial Britain ruled India. The British enjoyed their picnics and so the tiffin became the perfect way to transport and present a range of exotic dishes. Today, tiffins are used quite extensively throughout Asia. For everyone from mothers preparing a school lunch for their children through to restaurants delivering dinner to busy professionals, tiffins are indispensable. In Singapore, where I come from, family picnics (as well as romantic picnic dinner dates!) were never complete without the ubiquitous tiffins. It has always been a part of my daily life. So I hope that you can now understand a little of the nostalgia, love and laughter that surrounds the humble tiffin. May you get to experience sharing a tiffin meal with your partner in one of our beautiful and romantic villas. Warmest Regards,
