We have just entererd into a long term partnership with the local Tamborine Mountain Golf Club. We are looking forward to bringing some exciting play and stay packages to our guests. Here is the article that was featured on the front page of the Tamborine Times.
The Tamborine Mountain Golf Club and accommodation provider The Escarpment Retreat and Day Spa has signed a major sponsorship deal that would see the club reaping benefits from its prime position.
Under the deal, the golf club will receive up to $25,000 in payments and benefits over a number of years. In return, The Escarpment Retreat will share the club’s prominent signage on Guanuba and Golf Course Roads. The deal is seen as a win-win by the club’s committee members and Gary Poole, the retreat’s owner.
“Gary’s involvement adds a much higher and valued premium to advance our plans further and faster,” says Roger Wilson, the club’s Publicity Officer.
He adds that sponsorships generally go into promotions and events to attract new members. The Escarpment’s involvement means that the events will be more attractive. The club will be given free room nights and other services by the retreat as well as an annuity for having its name on the board.
“According to the Department of Transport and Main Roads, around half a million cars travel to the mountain every year and many pass by the golf club sign,” says Gary, who won Scenic Rim’s Business Person of The Year award in 2012. He adds “why not build brand awareness while helping our local community?”
Furthermore, Gary hopes to attract overseas visitors to a round of golf at the club. He quotes a recent tourism report that states Asian inbound tourism had increased by nearly 40 percent in the past year alone. Golf is a premium game in Asia and he feels that this is a great opportunity for them to experience golf in a natural setting.
The sign is titled ‘Play and Stay’ and is a collaborative marketing strategy that incorporates luxury accommodation, day spa treatments, a Gold Class cinema session, meals and a round (or two) of golf.
Roger says the sign adds to the mountain’s reputation as a tourism destination.
The Escarpment Retreat and Day Spa was a finalist in the ‘Best Marketing’ section of the Scenic Rim Business Excellence Awards last year as well as voted Top Ten Spa Accommodation in the South Pacific Region by Tripadvisor.com
