A great time to stay with us at The Escarpment Retreat is during the Scarecrow Festival when the best of the best of Mt Tamborine is on show – Friday 14th to Sunday 16th October. With its beginnings in 2008 the Scarecrow Festival is growing each year with a logo to reflect the “magical, mystical and little bit quirky character of Tamborine Mountain” according to this year’s organisers.
It is a community event with a focus on families but everyone is welcome to go along and be a part of the fun, frivolity and creative mayhem that the Scarecrow Festival is becoming famous for – not just locally but worldwide. With a continuous program of free street entertainment in Gallery Walk (Long Rd) of buskers and other entertainers there is guaranteed to be something for everyone.
Or you can take a walk along the “Scarecrow Trail” and see the amazing scarecrows built by local folks as they compete for the $1000 best in festival prize- in previous years there have been over 200 scarecrows along this 14km trail. Check out some of the previous year’s entrants
With much of the program being kept under wraps by the Festival organisers we can tell you that the fabulous Leaping Lizards will be playing at 7pm on October 15th. For updates and more information on the events and who is playing keep an eye on the Festival’s Facebook page
