Here are some of the many MUST SEE places on Tamborine Mountain.
Mt Tamborine has several wineries for you to visit and a great place to start would be Witches Falls Winery. This small, outstanding winery produces very high quality wines and has been awarded 5-star status for 2 years in a row by James Halliday, Australia's most respected wine critic.
The Witches Falls Cellar Door is open everyday (except for Good Friday and Christmas), from 10am to 4pm weekdays and until 5pm on weekends. Tasting is only at $6 per person for a selection of 6 wines from their wine list.
The Fortitude Brewing Company offers craft beer under two brands. The first one is Fortitude these are true craft beers, that settle around 4% alcohol content and are hand crafted from premium ingredients. The second one is the Noisy Minor, which is their range of “extreme” beer. Enjoy unique beers from the tap or tasting plates, from 10am to 5pm, Wednesday to Sunday.
Scenic Rim Robotic Dairy
Family owned and operated since 1936, the Scenic Rim Robotic Dairy has a Lely ‘Astronaut’ robot that cleans the teats of their pasture based cows, attaches the cups and milks them automatically. They have a strong belief in low food miles and only distribute milk within a 2-hour drive from their farm. Their 4Real Milk is exactly that, real milk in glass bottles that are minimally processed with cream still on the top.
They only accept tour groups and school groups, but you can contact them if you are interested to join one of these. And if you're able to join, the 50 minute ride from the Escarpment Retreat will be well worth it, with their postcard perfect surrounds and their incredible milk of course.
Mt Tamborine has fortnightly Sunday markets that are a favourite of both local and foreign tourists. The first one is the Showgrounds Market that are on every second Sunday of each month and the School Market on every last, both run from 8am to 2pm. There you will find hundreds of stalls of goodies, some of which will have nice things to buy for friends and loved ones at home. There are also lots of local food and drinks as well, plus wonderful music and artists at work.
If you'd like to sample some organic produce, visit The Green Shed at the Showground on Main Western Road. The fresh organic fruits and vegetable come directly from the farmers to the shed every Sunday from 7am to 12pm. The wonderful collection that you see above only cost $27.
Another mountain must-see are the unmanned road side stalls that sell produce such as flowers, rhubarb and gold kiwi. To pay, coins are deposited in the stall's ‘honesty box’. Some of these boxes are tin and some are just ice cream containers, which shows the trust that people have on the mountain that others will be honest and do the right thing.
Jasmin Organics Farm
Their farm is open for guests 7 days a week. Don't miss out on an opportunity to walk through their beautiful property with its organic crops and fruit orchards, learn the benefits of using organic skincare and discover how their award-winning products are made plus you'll also be able to sample and buy their products at the farm.
If you are like us, who love a hot cup of coffee in the morning (and in the afternoon), then you will truly enjoy a visit to the Mount Tamborine Coffee Plantation. There you will discover one of the best kept coffee bean secrets and it is just a 10 minute walk from our front gates.
While you're there you can indulge in an aroma intense cup of local organic coffee with a light healthy lunch. And maybe even buy a bag of freshly roasted beans to take home for your family and friends, so that they can also enjoy the "taste of Tamborine".
Our mountain is a plateau, 8kms long and a km wide. All of the wonderful attractions on the mountain are encapsulated within this 8kms, so every thing on the mountain is conveniently less than 10 minutes from any other place on the mountain, making it one of the easiest tourism areas to navigate.
