The first concert to help the Queensland flood victims, was held in our Scenic Rim backyard on Saturday 15th January at the Woodhill Community Hall near Jimboomba.
As well as raising money for those desperate families who lost everything, it was also an opportunity for the people of Scenic Rim to leave the repetitive tv coverages behind and actively contribute to the flood victims cause …. and contribute they did!
A range of entertainers kindly donated their time. The line up included the BobKats, Logan And Beaudesert Country Music Club, Blind Dog Blues Band, Scattered Kats, Rockabillies, Brad Curry Band, Rockin’ Ray Gibson, Double Shot Rockers and Ebony Rose. Special guest Aidan Mclindon and local music award winner Yasmin Poole also performed.
Activities included sausage sizzle by the RSL, mobile food stalls, auctions on the day, unique car and truck show incl the Chrysler Club plus a V8 race car simulator, and rock n’ roll dance lessons.
Donations financially and in kind included Lillydale Farm Stay, The Escarpment Retreat, Beaudesert Community Building Society, Café on Cusack,Gary Poole, Janelle of the BobKats, Jennifer Stephan, Scenic Rim Council, Bendigo Bank, Logan And Beaudesert Country Music club, Australian Street Rod Federation, Michael Bassett, Pauline Schafer, Jimboomba RSL, Jimboomba Rotary, Radio Stations: BEAUFM, 96five Family Radio, 4BC, 4K and Logan 101 FM, Newspapers: Jimboomba & Beaudesert Times, Quest Papers and Courier Mail
